Laparoscopy
Laparoscopy is the least invasive surgical tool we can use for examining the fallopian tubes, uterus and ovaries. It is a procedure completed in hospital under general anaesthesia. A small incision is made just under the navel and a thin fibre-optic viewing tube (endoscope) is inserted into the abdominal cavity so we can get a better look at the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. Advanced operative techniques allow for the repair of some defects at the same time as the examination.
