Ovarian Hormone Function Testing

Hormones take their cue from the pituitary gland and are released into the bloodstream to control growth and development, reproduction, and sexual characteristics.

  • Hormones influence cells and the metabolism of glucose, protein and fat throughout the body.
  • Two specific hormones follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and Estradiol provide us with information about the quality of your eggs and how your ovaries are functioning.
  • If levels of either hormone look high it indicates a lower number of eggs and a reduced chance of becoming pregnant.
  • This testing is done on day 3 of your period.

Other hormones including prolactin, testosterone and thyroid stimulating hormone may be tested.

"My husband and I couldn't face our relations and friends, who for four years were always asking us why we didn't have a child. Then we met Dr. Roth, who advised us on how to overcome irregular periods and unbearable pain to be able to have a baby. We followed his advice. He worked hard and showed a great deal of patience with our situation. We are now parents of a beautiful baby girl. We recommend Dr. Roth to our community without hesitation."
